Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) will host the prestigious Championship that will be organized in a unique open-air arena
The men’s only Championship will be contested in three categories – juveniles, youth, and seniors
Abu Dhabi, UAE – February 2, 2020: Jiu-Jitsu fever will grip the western city of Ruwais in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as it prepares to host the second round of the President’s Cup, hosted by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), on Friday, February 7.
The President’s Cup is one of the most prestigious Jiu-Jitsu tournaments in the UAE and the second round will be hosted in a specially constructed open-air arena in Ruwais’ Al-Hosn Recreation Centre. This will also be the first time a Jiu-Jitsu tournament is held in an outdoor venue and the tournament has already begun to generate a healthy buzz amongst Jiu-Jitsu athletes and fans.
The President’s Cup is another step towards achieving the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation’s (UAEJJF) goal of regularly providing the Jiu-Jitsu community with a superior level of competitions and the second round of the President’s Cup will feature competition in three categories – juveniles, youth, and seniors (men).
Youssef Abdullah Al Batran, member of the UAEJJF’s Board of Directors, said that the tournament was shaping up to be spectacle of high-octane action with most of the top clubs in the UAE having confirmed their participation.
“This is the first time that a round of such a storied tournament is being held in Ruwais adding another feather to the UAEJJF’s cap of taking the game to every part of our glorious country. Organizing the tournament in a first-of-its-kind outdoor venue will add a special dimension to the tournament,”
