18 December 2019:The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federations (UAEJJF) will organize the seventh edition of the Dubai International Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championship at Shabab Al Ahli Club on December 21. The Championship will be welcoming athletes from over 50 countries and will be held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the National Olympic Committee.
The Dubai International Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championship is open to all nationalities and will be hosting a large number of international athletes across three categories – Juveniles, Adults, and Masters. The weigh-in for competitors in all three categories will begin at 8.00 AM on December 21 while action on the mat will commence at 11. 00 AM.
The Dubai International Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championship is a part of the UAEJJF World Ranking Series and this edition also serves as a qualifying tournament for the prestigious Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2020.
H.E. Youseff Abdullah Al-Batran, Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, said that the UAEJJF was thankful to Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his constant support and for allowing the UAEJJF to organize events across the UAE in order to provide the sport effective visibility.
“The Dubai International Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championship is an excellent opportunity for the UAE’s Jiu-Jitsu athletes to test themselves and their skills against some renowned international athletes.
The experience of competing against seasoned international competitors will go a long way in helping the UAE’s athletes better their craft and also provide the right incentive for them to better their skills and technique,” he said.
